Fatema Khatun, 34, visited my clinic with her husband on December 11, 2010, to receive treatment for her infertility. She has been married for 13 years yet has not conceived despite having unprotected sex, so they attempted various infertility treatments throughout that time but couldn’t achieve any results. After she got pregnant, sadly, she experienced a miscarriage in her second month. Her ultrasound from March 1, 2009, revealed ‘uterine fibroid with incomplete abortion,’ leading to surgery in November 2009. Her histopathology report dated November 3, 2009, indicates Uterine Leiomyoma. She has had diabetes since she was young, and her blood sugar levels have been very high, so she has to take insulin regularly. Finally, they decided to seek homeopathic treatment and arrived at my office on the date mentioned above.
- She experienced pain in her knees, a headache, and constipation.
- She sensed that she could be suffering from some terrible illness.
- She was afraid of cancer.
- She felt anxious or worried that her health might be in jeopardy.
- She felt alone.
- She enjoyed salt, fish and cold food.
- She wouldn’t enjoy bathing frequently.
- She was a cold patient and experienced pain throughout her body.
- She would often drift into her thoughts, oblivious to her environment and demonstrating a lack of focus, particularly during her menstruation.
- And most importantly, she felt deep sorrow because she was unable to conceive or bear a child.
I selected the following rubrics for repertorisation:
- Anxiety, concern for her health
- Fear of cancer
- Anxiety about future illnesses
- Delusion of always being alone.
These four rubrics point to a single remedy, specifically carcinosin in the Synthesis repertory.
December 11, 2010: I recommended carcinosin 200/ 6 doses and Nihilinum for 14 days. Her knee pain, headache, and body aches began to get better. She felt improved in all aspects after taking carcinosin, except for her blood sugar level, for which she was using insulin. In April 2011, she experienced some recurrence, prompting me to revisit the case again with the more notable symptoms she had. The symptoms included:
- Anxiety regarding her health
- Fear of looming illnesses
- Fear of cancer
- Forgetfulness during menstruation.
These symptoms pointed solely to calcarea carb in the synthesis repertory.
April 26, 2011: I recommended calcarea carb 200/6 doses and sac lactis for two weeks. Since then, the patient primarily used sac lactis and occasionally repeated calcarea carb at extended intervals until October 2012.
December 17, 2012: The patient visited me and stated that she had ceased menstruating, with her most recent period being on November 4, 2012. She tested positive for pregnancy. On December 17, 2012, I provided her with agaricus m 200/6 doses based on her symptoms; she regarded each minor health issue seriously, believing she had cancer or another serious illness whenever she experienced abdominal pain. The synthesis repertory included just one remedy categorised under ‘delusion small hole appears like a frightful chasm’ or ‘delusion spoonful of water seems like a lake’.
Occasionally, she approached me throughout her pregnancy, but on one occasion, I prescribed calc carb again, while the rest of the treatment was sac lactis/placebo. Starting from her third month of pregnancy, I requested that she see an obstetrician, and she was under his supervision, eventually giving birth to a baby girl via cesarean section on August 9, 2013. Now the child is 2 years old and she has been running well.
