Afiluddin Biswas, a 21-year-old young man, arrived at my clinic on September 18, 2005. He had experienced chest pain for 3 months. Initially, he took medication from a nearby physician, but it did not work, so he saw a lung specialist who recommended a chest X-ray that showed a lung abscess on the right side. He underwent treatment from that chest specialist for two months, but the issues persisted; he was unable to perform his normal tasks and became emaciated, weak, and anxious about the possibility of dying. Finally, he decided to try homeopathy, so he came to see me on the above mentioned date.
I discovered additional symptoms:
- He was unable to lie on his left side as he experienced increased pain in that position.
- He enjoyed salty dishes, warm meals and preferred not to bathe frequently, meaning he had an aversion to bathing as well.
- He was gentle, cultured, and sentimental.
- He wasn’t robust, often dealt with colds and coughs, and became sick quickly, fragile.
- He was unable to endure warm weather.
Family background:
His father experienced pleurisy before his birth, his mother was affected by Bronchial Asthma, and his sister suffered from Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
Prescription overview:
September 18, 2005: Tuberculinum 200/4 doses were prescribed, followed by Nihilinum for 7 days, based on the family’s tubercular history and symptoms such as craving for salt, desire for warm food, and a delicate constitution.
After 7 days, I noticed no improvement whatsoever, so on September 26, 2005, I selected the following symptoms for repertorisation:
- Chest pain when lying on the left side
- A desire for salty food
- Aversion to bathing
- A tendency to easily fall ill
- Indicating a delicate constitution.
These five symptoms pointed exclusively to phosphorus, so I prescribed Phosphorus 30/4 doses and placebo for 14 days.
October 17, 2005: The patient reported feeling better, so I recommended a placebo treatment for an additional 14 days.
October 29, 2005: Phosphorus 200/4 doses and Nihilinum for 21 days were recommended since the patient ceased to show improvement.
November 22, 2005: He felt good and experienced no discomfort, so I requested a chest X-ray that revealed no abnormalities whatsoever.
January 26, 2006: He approached me with chest pain, so I prescribed the medication in a stronger dosage. In this manner, I continued his treatment until 14th November 2006, and on that final day, I prescribed phosphorus 50m/4 doses, followed by a placebo. Following that, he experienced no pain whatsoever. His X-ray and blood tests revealed no abnormalities. I am in regular touch with him, and he has been doing well since the last prescription.
