A 2-year-old infant was taken to my clinic by her parents on August 3, 2014. She has cried since she was born, but it has intensified over the past 6 months, often producing a loud and distressing noise that lasts a long time if her parents leave her alone for even a moment. She always wants her parents to be close to her. She couldn’t tolerate sudden loud sounds. The stormy weather and thunderstorms left her feeling uneasy and agitated. The parents couldn’t tolerate the noise, so they visited various pediatricians, but nothing worked. Ultimately, they chose to attempt homeopathy and came to see me on the above mentioned date. Though I hardly discovered any physical irregularity aside from the crying.
I utilized these criteria for homeopathic prescriptions:
- Attachment to people or objects,
- Anxiety during thunderstorms,
- Screaming continuously.
These three categories point solely to stramonium.
Prescription overview:
August 3, 2014: Stram 30/6 doses followed by placebo for a week.
August 10, 2014: The patient was doing well in all aspects, so I recommended only Sac lactis 30 for an additional 7 days.
August 21, 2014: Once again I recommended Sac lactis 30 for 14 days since she experienced no issues whatsoever.
I believe she wouldn’t require any additional medication besides Sac lac/placebo, though I advised her parents to continue the medicine for a minimum of 3 to 4 months. If I notice any recurrence during the treatment period, I will certainly inform you.
