A CASE OF SEVERE MEATAL STENOSIS

Mr. Bijiten Biswas, aged 45, has been unable to urinate freely since he was 22. He experienced painful and frequent urination, characterized by a strong yet narrow, fine stream of urine accompanied by a burning sensation. The diagnosis was Meatal Stenosis. The individual had surgery when he was 25 years old.

After 15 years, the issue resurfaced, for which he had a meatotomy for the second time in 2004, but there was no notable improvement, and within a month, he encountered the same problem again. The surgeon recommended dilatation to him. Starting in 2004, the patient had no choice but to receive monthly recurrent dilatation.

The patient came to see me on 28th September 2008 due to severe pain in the left iliac fossa along with swelling in the scrotum that began following dilation. Severe recurring pain accompanied by fever appears abruptly and disappears gradually. He showed additional homeopathic symptoms as outlined below:

  • Easily frightened by blood
  • Afraid of ghosts
  • Craving for sweets

The chosen medication was calcaria carbonica; however, to address the acute issue, I administered Belladonna 30 TDS for three days. The pain and swelling diminished after Belladonna.

On 22/09/2004, the prescription included calcaria carb 200 in six doses, followed by nihilinum 30 for a month.

After that, the patient remained under my supervision for three years, and he is completely fine; no dilation has been required up to now. He lives a normal life. For three years, he needed to take that medication for an extended period.
